A short checklist to avoid most installation mistakes.

Remove nails/screws and fill in any cracks

Switch off the electricity mains and remove any socket/switch covers

Sand down any rough areas until smooth

Use a sponge to clean the walls with warm water and mild soap, allow to dry

Paint the wall a light uniform colour if it differs significantly from your wallpaper

Freshly painted walls should be left for 48 hours before application

Porous surfaces (plaster, cement): ensure old plaster is stable. Sand smooth and seal with primer

Follow the sequence as written, then check alignment before finishing.

    Lay out your wallpaper — unroll and separate drops, arrange in order

    Trim white borders from left and right sides

    Lightly damp the paper backing

    Mark and draw a vertical guide line on the wall

    Apply wallpaper paste to the wall

    Hang first panel from top to bottom, aligning with guide line

    Overlap subsequent panels

    Cut down the middle of the overlap using a straight edge and sharp knife

    Remove excess overlap from both sides

    Use seam roller to smooth the joins

    Continue the same process for each drop

    Trim excess at top and bottom, allow to dry with proper ventilation
